You can tie a cat to a treadmill, but you can't make them run on it. It's true. I tried. In doing all of our research for the move, we've been pricing flying the cats with us. Tink is a pretty normal sized cat, but Ashley...well, let's just say that she's a whole lot of woman. 15 pounds of woman. Did I mention that some airlines charge by the pound? Tink is small enough that she could ride in the cabin with us, at a much cheaper rate. Ashley is headed straight for the baggage compartment. (Cue the forklift.) I know what you're thinking, it's the owners fault that the pets are fat. True. Now the cats are on a diet. No food for the next three months. That should do it. Water only. The cats are not amused.
I LOVE to watch them play!!!

The things we do for our cats!! We have traveled with cats our whole married life. Can be interesting. But we never flew with them. Good luck with that!!
Is it coincidence that Tink is at the dinner table?
I told Russ that military people shouldn't own pets! Oh, well. You do what you have to. Tink will be irritated, but Ashley is going to stress out.
It's no coincidence that both cats hang out in the kitchen and around the table. They like their food!
the first time Sara hit 15lbs, I told the vet "that's 3 bags of sugar!!"
Changing her food might make a difference. I'm not sure if it's them or how much of it they are eating but I've seen major weight changes with different foods. Sally was always the bigger one and then dropped to skin and bones. We thought she may be deathly ill. Changed their food and she was fine again.
What food did you put them on? I have no idea what we will be able to buy over in Belgium, so I am not sure I want to change their diet too much now. I have been giving them a smaller amount each day. The porkers are not happy!
